Scott Palfreyman scored the game winner with only 1:19 on the clock as AON upset Kilrich 5-3 in Whitehorse Oldtimers hockey action Sunday night at Takhini Arena. AON, 5-1-2 in their last eight games, also got a pair from Kevin Johnstone, and single goals from Mervin Jacobsen and Rick Gingell. For Kilrich, it was Andrew Pothier with a pair, and Peter Johnston got the other.

Air North 2, Yukon Inn 2

Shawn Kinsella scored the tying goal midway through the second period to lift Yukon Inn to the tie. Ben Kielb also scored for the Inn, and Air North got goals from Garrett Zacharias and James Pugsley.

Tim Hortons 5, EDI 2

Geordan Clark collected the hats for Tims as he netted three goals. Pete Mostyn and Mike Gau also scored in the win, while Tony Clennett and Kevin Neufeld replied for EDI.

Firth 12, Medicine Chest 1

Goalscorers for Firth were Rick Moses (4), Greg Lane (2), Mark King (2), Arlo O’Riordan (2), Murray Arsenault and Gord Campbell. Al Hanson replied for Medicine Chest.

Last Wednesday:

Paul Husband was stellar in net to earn the shutout as the Firth Rangers beat Tim Hortons 5-0 in Whitehorse Oldtimers hockey action last Wednesday night at Takhini Arena. Greg Lane led the offence with two goals, and Mark King, Gord Campbell (on a nifty move) and Mike Jim also scored.

In the other game last Wednesday, there were no shutouts looming, as goals came early and often in Kilrich’s 8-5 victory over Medicine Chest. Chris Nash once again led the scoring for the builders, as he nailed the hat trick. Colin Nash, Clint Ireland, Elgin Schwantz, Andrew Pothier and Peter Johnston also nailed goals for Kilrich.

For Medicine Chest, Kirk Price ripped home a pair of goals, and singles came from George Skookum, Myles Dolphin and Stu Mackay. Bill Cullen added three assists.
