Goalies stole the show in Whitehorse Oldtimers hockey action at Takhini Arena on Thursday night. Jay Blakeston was outstanding in Yukon Inn’s 5-1 win over EDI, and Paul Husband stopped everything to backstop Firth to their 5-0 win over Tim Hortons.

In the Inn win, Ben Kielb led the way with a pair of goals, and solo markers came from Shawn Kinsella, Alfred Feldman (three assists also), and Lawrence Ignace. Peter Kirby replied for EDI.

Firth was led offensively by Gord Campbell with the hat trick, and Mike Jim and Jeff Hunston rounded out the scoring.

Wednesday:

Air North 4, AON 4

Air North goalie Floyd McCormick was spectacularly stupendous in net, stopping six breakaways and numerous other point-blank chances to allow Air North to hang on to the tie. Bernie Adilman, Dustin Heffner, Wynn Griffith and Mike Blower tallied for the plane people. For AON, it was Scott Palfreyman (with a beauty end-to-end effort), Mervin Jacobsen, Walt Liley and Blayne Monahan doing the damage.

Kilrich 6, Medicine Chest 3

Andrew Pothier netted two for the builders, and singles came from John Pereira, Peter Johnston, Chris Carli (shorthanded) and Ron Cruikshank (also shorthanded). For the Chest chaps it was Kirk Price doing all the damage.
