Ed van Randen continued his goalscoring tear to propel Air North to a hard-fought 2-1 win over Yukon Inn in Whitehorse Oldtimers action Thursday night at Takhini Arena. Garrett Zacharias also scored for the Jets, who soared past Kilrich into first place in the league standings. Kerry Pettitt replied for Yukon Inn.

AON 5, Kilrich 3

AON used a balanced attack to nail the win over Kilrich as five different players connected – Walt Liley, Kevin Johnstone, Gary Vantell, Blayne Monahan and Robert Vance. Brian Currie netted all three goals for second-place Kilrich.

Wednesday

Tim Hortons 6, EDI 5

Pete Mostyn was EDI’s Scrooge on Wednesday as the Tim’s forward scored a game-winning shorthanded goal with only 44 seconds left in the game to give the coffee crew the win.

Defenceman Daryl Berube, in Cale Makar-ish fashion, sniped two goals to pace Tim’s, and Mike Gau, Gerry Brandt and Lester Balsillie added one each. For EDI, five different marksmen found the back of the net – Travis Ritchie, Tony Clennett, Rick Smith, Peter Kirby and Steve Fecteau.

Firth Rangers 6, Medicine Chest 3

Scott Olafson and Mike Jim each scored twice to lead Firth, and Arlo O’Riordan and Greg Lane chipped in one apiece. Bill Cullen, Michael Svoboda and Derek Bilodeau did the damage for Medicine Chest.
