Kilrich scored six goals during a frantic six-minute stretch in the first period and hung on to defeat Yukon Inn 6-4 in Whitehorse Oldtimers hockey action Thursday night at Takhini Arena. Arlo O’Riordan nailed three of the goals, and Clint Ireland, Lawrence Ignace and Mark King pounded home the others in Junior Circuit action. For the Inn gang, it was Wynn Griffith with two goals, and Joel Witten and Tyson Wirth with the others.

The other youngsters’ game saw eight different scorers tally for Firth in their 8-5 win over AON. Mike Gau, Dustin Heffner, Greg Charlie, Michael Svoboda, Jacob Pokiak, Gerry Brandt, Caleb Tomlinson and Elgin Schwantz did the damage. For AON, Geordan Clark led the charge with the hat trick, and Blaine Demchuk, added a single.

Wednesday night in the Senior Circuit saw Tim Hortons knock Medicine Chest from the ranks of the unbeaten with a 3-1 victory. Mike Jim, Gary Vantell and Ron Daub poured in the Tims goals, while Dave White popped the lone pill for the Chest.

And Kevin Neufeld and Gord Campbell were dynamic for EDI with two goals each in a 4-2 win over Air North. Brent Stokes and Adam Green were flying for Air North with a goal each.

Sunday:

It was the Mikes show in Senior Circuit action of Whitehorse Oldtimers hockey Sunday night at Takhini Arena, as Mikes accounted for six goals to help Tim Hortons roast EDI 9-4. Mike Jim had three, Mike Sage potted two, and Mike Blower scored one shorthanded. Greg Lane also stirred up a couple of goals for Tim’s, and a single was served up by Garrett Kuptana. For EDI, it was Bob Allison, Gord Campbell, Kerry Pettitt and Lauri Malo connecting.

The other Senior game ended in a tie when Martin Lawrie scored with 7:58 left in the game to help Medicine Chest earn a 5-5 draw with Air North. Pete Mostyn prescribed a couple of goals for the Chest, and others came from Al Hansen and Dave White. For the air crew, Adam Green continued to jet around the ice with a pair of goals, and Sean McLeish, Doug Janzen and John Pereira chipped in one apiece.

In Junior Circuit action, Kilrich remained unbeaten at 4-0 as they exploded for six second-period goals to down AON 6-2. Mark King nailed a couple for Kilrich, and Myles Dolphin, Arlo O’Riordan, Ben Kielb and Chris Nash helped build the remaining final score. For AON, Briar Young and Gus Morberg were the marksmen.

And Firth evened their record at 2-2 as they outscored Yukon Inn 8-4. Greg Charlie helped insure the win with two goals, and solo efforts came from Gerry Brandt, Anthony Grottoli, Maxime Dugre-Sasseville, Mike Gau and Dustin Heffner. Four different skaters booked goals for the Inn – Tyson Wirth, James Pugsley, Damon Crosby and Sean Sheardown.
