Capri CMW defeated Kilrich for the first time this season in Junior Circuit action of Whitehorse Oldtimers hockey Sunday at Takhini Arena.

CapriCMW defeated Kilrich for the first time this season in Junior Circuit action of Whitehorse Oldtimers hockey Sunday at Takhini Arena. Capri led 5-3 after one period and then hung on for a 6-4 victory. Blayne Monahan led the charge again in victory with two goals, and solo efforts came from Geordan Clark, Pat Tobler, Blaine Demchuk and Marty O’Hagan. For Kilrich, it was Chris Nash with a pair, and one apiece from Derek Bilodeau and Ben Mercier.

The other Junior game saw Yukon Inn defeat Firth 6-1. Tyson Wirth and Nate Clark each netted two goals for the Inn, and Chadwyck Cowan and Scott Olafson chipped in one each. Firth’s marker came from Dustin Heffner.

Senior play saw Medicine Chest edge Air North 3-2. Al Hanson scored the winner on the team’s potent powerplay, and Pete Mostyn and Martin Lawrie also tallied. For Air North, it was Chris Lane and Steve Arrell scoring.

And Tim Hortons won their third in a row with a 3-1 win over EDI. Mike Sage scored twice in victory, and Lester Balsillie was the other sniper. Laurie Malo spoiled the shutout bid with 2:06 left on the clock.
