The Firth Rangers dealt Kilrich only their second loss of the Whitehorse Oldtimers hockey season, an 8-5 win Sunday night at Takhini Arena in Junior Circuit action. Firth was led by Dustin Heffner’s hat trick, two from Jacob Pokiak, and singles from Greg Charlie, Pete Johnston and Gerry Brandt. For Kilrich, it was Clint Ireland with a rare hatty, and Derek Bilodeau and Ben Kielb with singles.

The other Junior game saw Capri CMW salvage a win with a 5-4 victory over Yukon Inn. Capri had stormed out to a 4-1 lead only to see the Inn skaters rally to tie it at four with 2:48 left on the clock. But Gus Morberg scored with only 31 seconds left to give Capri the win. Other CMW snipers were Blayne Monahan with a pair, and Kevin Johnstone and Paul Sullivan with one apiece. For Yukon Inn, the damage was done by Scott Olafson (two), and one each from Nate Clark and Russ McDiarmid.

In Senior play, Tim Turner-Davis popped home the winner with only 3:40 remaining to give EDI a 3-2 victory over Medicine Chest. Les Luciuk and Rick Smith also tallied in the win. Ron Cruikshank netted both goals for Medicine Chest.

And Rob Clarke was heroic in net for Air North, but couldn’t stop them all as Tim Hortons blanked the airmen 3-0. Super sub Darryl Cann recorded the shutout for the coffee crew, and Tims goals came off the sticks of Gary Vantell, Doug Terry and Lorne Burnett.

Lauri Malo led the charge in the win with a hat trick, Rick Smith popped in a pair, and single goals were provided by Brian Gudmundson and Rick Moses. For Tims, Greg Lane scored twice, and one each came from Lester Balsillie, Gary Vantell and Ron Daub.
