Ladroue’s clinical finishing hurts Driving Force

JP Ladroue is a cultured man, and he plays soccer in the same vain, the way he sashays around the pitch and caresses the ball like a Faberge egg, before executing a lethal strike on goal makes him a player that every team would like.

Ladroue scored 4 goals and assisted on others as Yukon Info.com blew away Driving Force 8-1 in over 35’s soccer action.

Ladroue’s strike partner Adil Khalik has a different skill set but is no less effective as he grabbed another 2 goals, with the industrious Ciaran Connolly getting one and an own goal rounding out the scoring forYukon Info.

When Driving Force lose and it’s not often, they get thumped. There will be some scratching of heads on why this happens.

Sub Guliano Rayo got the only goal for the Force.

Hafeez an unsung hero

Goher Hafeez is a tough tackling defender with a great attitude and a fantastic will to win, and on Saturday with only seconds left of ref David Strachan’s watch he blasted an equalizer past the stricken Stu Knack to earn Klondike Business Solutions a deserved tie and finish the match 3-3 against Yukon Brewing.

Yukon Brewing were sitting pretty for a long time in this game with Michael Zuccarini, fast improving Martin Farrow and CBC financial expert George Maratos all getting a goal each.

However, with Franklin Fru becoming more and more influential, and Shawn Fearon’s tireless work, KBS fought their way back, leaving the stage set for Hafeez to score his first goal of the season.

Andy Todd got the other KBS goals.

Westmark back to
winning ways

Last week’s loss for Westmark must have been a blip, as they beat an out of sorts Pepsi 9-3 in the late game at the Canada Games Centre. Westmark were missing a couple of star players, but it made little difference as Justin Carre took centre stage and hit four goals as his team sometimes ran rampant against the boys in red. Subs Andy Todd and JP Ladroue combined for four goals, with the exuberant James Wigmore getting the other goal.

Pepsi had a great result last week and Guliano Rayo continued his goalscoring form, but this week they lacked cohesion and were ripped apart in midfield with Carre running riot for Westmark. Skipper Keith Maguire got the other goal for Pepsi.
