Deadly Doug Hitch dispatches Pepsi

Like the eponymous hero Benjamin Button, Doug Hitch seems to get younger as the years go on.

Like the eponymous hero Benjamin Button, Doug Hitch seems to get younger as the years go on. He was the rapier that tore into the Pepsi team, as he capped an impressive display with a goal leading Klondike Business Solutions to a 5-3 win in over 35’s soccer action.

KBS scored early and were to control the narrative. Although Pepsi’s JP Ladroue was a constant threat to the KBS defenders, his two goals were not decisive as Hitch and company scored goals regularly to keep themselves two goals in front.

Jim Brown scored a nice goal from an acute angle, and Matthias Hartman was good value for his three goals.

In fact if it wasn’t for James McCullough in the Pepsi net the score could have been in double figures as he pulled off a string of fantastic saves.

Fabian Gylka got the other goal for Pepsi.

The win for KBS took them three points clear of the other teams in the league, but there are still a lot of games to go in the season.

Yukon Info.com win
in shortened game

Yukon Info.com were having an impressive outing before an injury to Adil Khalik in the second half stopped the game early with Info winning at the time 4-2.

Graham White was eyeing a hat trick before the early conclusion to the game. White had hit two sumptuous goals that were out of the top draw.

Danny Macdonald’s team doubled their points tally with this win and will look to climb the table now.

Other scorers were Michael Zuccurini and Derek Funk for Yukon Info and Miles Hume and Matthias Hartman for Yukon Brewing.

Ngugen the difference
between the sides

Air North Rangers  Huy Ngugen is an elusive player who always seems to be in the right place at the right time.

He picked up another two goals bringing his tally for the season to eight, and helped overcome Driving Force 3-2.

This was another impressive display from the Celtic inspired Air North, with Iain Breckenridge and Ciaran Connolly bringing their brand of soccer to the fore. And in Marcelo Gortari, they have a man who provides the class to their game.

Driving Force kept Air North honest, and never gave them a moment’s rest so the men in blue had to be in the peak of their form.

This game was a classic advertisement for over 35’s soccer in the territory.

Both teams have a lot of skill and experience with no apparent weaknesses, led by old gnarled warriors who demand the best from their players.

Gortari got the other goal for Air North, and Mark Chandler and Keith Maguire picked up goals for Driving Force.
