More than $50,000 in stolen goods were seized Thursday from a Whitehorse-area home.

Four adults have been charged with possession of stolen property, Whitehorse RCMP said today.

Police are asking the public to refrain from calling in the detachment while they catalog and organize the goods, but to watch for a statement later in the week to see how unidentified property can be viewed.

'Police have recovered items such as art work, construction tools, household appliances, furniture and camera equipment,' says a press release issued this morning.

Charged with possession of stolen property are: Jerry Michael Byrne, 30; Warren Alexander Ellis, 31; Robert Joseph Gillespie, 49 and Kim Rhonda Mulholland, 30.

Byrne and Gillespie were released and are scheduled to appear in territorial court next week.

Ellis and Mulholland are in custody and are scheduled to be in court Tuesday for a bail hearing.

'Work is underway at the present time to correlate the property recovered to reported crimes,' says the press release.

According to court files, the four are all facing a charge of having a stolen Honda ATV in their possession, with a value exceeding $5,000.

RCMP Sgt. John Sutherland said the ongoing investigation will determine whether more charges are laid.

'During the course of a recent investigation, Whitehorse RCMP executed a search warrant at a residence in the Whitehorse area on 09 June 2004,' says the press release.

'As a result, RCMP have recovered a significant amount of property which has been stolen in thefts in the Whitehorse area and outlying communities.

'The value of the property is estimated to exceed $50,000.'
