The territory’s freestyle ski team picked up some impressive results at a competition held at the Apex Mountain Resort in Hedley, B.C., over the weekend.

The team attended the Timber Tour Freestyle Ski Competition, which pitted them against athletes from clubs all across B.C.

The Yukoners competed in the slopestyle and big air events, picking up two second-place, and two third-place finishes in the process.

In the M2 slopestyle division (age 16 to 18), Dylan Reed finished second, Josh Harlow took third and Etienne Geoffroy was fifth.

Last season, Harlow won the Yukon freestyle team’s first medal at the Canadian Junior Freestyle Ski Championship.

Kyran Allen placed fifth in M3 slopestyle (age 14 to 15), while Niko Rodden was ninth.

In the big air M2 junior division, Geoffroy finished second, with Harlow taking third, Aidan Allen fourth, and Reed fifth.

Allen and Rodden finished seventh and ninth, respectively, in the M3 big air division.

The event marked the first of three competitions that will prepare the team for junior nationals, scheduled to take place in Quebec this March.

“We are very proud of our guys,” Yukon Freestyle Association president Lynda Harlow told the Star.
