A submission made on behalf of Yukon curling clubs has made it to the final round of the Kraft Celebration Tour contest, for a chance to win $25,000 and the opportunity to have a live TSN Broadcast shot in the Yukon!, the Yukon curling association pointed out in a press release this week.
Last Sunday, TSN announced the 20 finalists from a total of 629 nominated communities, and the voting round matchups that will narrow the finalists down to just ten winners. (See story above.)
The Yukon’s matchup will take place on Monday starting at 9 a.m., going head-to-head in an online voting competition a bid from Fort Smith, N.W.T.
The voting round will last for 24 hours, and supporters of each community are able to vote as many times as they would like to help their community win one of the 10 grand prize celebrations.
If successful, the winning bid will see the $25,000 in prize money split among six Yukon community curling clubs in Whitehorse, Watson Lake, Dawson, Teslin, Mayo and Atlin.
And the live TSN broadcast that goes along with the prize money is likely to be shot in Whitehorse. The prize money would be used for a range or projects aimed at improving the facilities, and promoting a healthy lifestyle through the participation in the sport of curling.
