Two womens’ records broken at 11th annual Yukon River Quest

Dawson Before Dusk (Veronica Wisniewski and Liz Bosely) paddled their way to Yukon River Quest best time in the womens’’ tandem canoe (48 hours and 53 minutes)

Meanwhile, tandem womens’’ kayakers “Oxford Hopefuls” (Lou Maurice and Hilary Greaves) also finished in record-breaking time (51:48).

Fifty-six of the 73 teams completed the 740-km race from Whitehorse to Dawson City. Each team received a finisher pin.

This was the third largest field in the races 11-year history. The first place team overall was Team 73 The Texans.

The Texans received $2,100 for their first place time in the open voyageur category. (40:52)

Second place in the voyager class was Team Dene ($800), while London Pride came in third and was given $450.
