Krestena (18:53) and Maura (19:01) Sullivan took no prisoners at Tuesday night’s Intersport 5 km Fun Run and Walk.The two former track stars dominated the field like Lance Armstrong once did at the Tour de France.

They finished three minutes ahead of the next fastest female runner, and ahead of all but one of the male runners.

Perennial favourite Janet Clarke (21:54) placed third, followed by Kaley Strachan (22:01) and Sheri Hogeboom (23:23). 

The Sullivan sisters pushed running enthusiast extraordinaire Keith Thaxter, as he crossed the line first overall with a season’s best time of 18:45, with Krestena Sullivan in hot pursuit.

Watching all this drama was former Yukon Cross Country Ski Team member Nathan Doering (19:07), who was the second fastest man and within easy view of the Thaxter-Sullivan chase.

Harrison Kwok (19:44), last week’s winner, finished third followed by Tom Ullyett (20:05). The runner with the movie star presence, Mike Tribes (20:32), rounded out the top five.

The lone race walker was the inspirational Arlene Ogden. She covered the course in a respectable 35:20.
