The territory’s coroner’s service is investigating after a body was found Saturday morning in downtown Whitehorse.

The body of a 35-year-old man was discovered at around 10 a.m. in an alley near the corner of Fourth Avenue and Alexander Street.

The coroner has identified the man as Byron Kodwat of Whitehorse.

Whitehorse RCMP Sgt. Don Rogers said today that the death does not appear to be suspicious.

The case has now been handed over to the coroner’s service to determine exactly how the man died.

His body is being sent for an autopsy and toxicology tests.

RIP Friend ~ thoughts & prayers to his Loved Ones.

Another sad lesson on the importance of people taking care of and watching out for one another in our cold northern climates…. as I’m constantly telling (nagging) the youth in my community to do “never leave each other behind, no matter WHAT.”
