The RCMP believe foul play was involved in the recent death of a Whitehorse man at the Norcope Enterprises gravel pit.

The remains of Gordon Tubman, 41, were discovered in a burned-out trailer last Sunday morning, as fire crews cleaned up from a blaze at the site on Copper Haul Road.

The body was later identified as Tubman’s following an autopsy ordered by the Yukon coroner’s office.

The complete autopsy results will not be available for some time.

As a result of the subsequent investigation headed by the “M” Division Major Crime Unit, police believe foul play was involved in Tubman’s death.

However, Sgt. Don Rogers, the RCMP’s spokesperson, said it wouldn’t be appropriate at this time to disclose the evidence that has been gathered because it may compromise the investigation.

Investigators are seeking assistance from the public in determining Tubman’s activities in the days before his death.

Tubman drove a black and white pickup truck with a black canopy.

Anyone with information about the man is asked to contact the Whitehorse RCMP at (867) 667-5555.
