Firm snow conditions made for fast times as 35 cyclists pedalled 40 kilometres from the Alaska Highway in the Ibex Valley to the Takhini Hot Pools.
The race began with a mass start shortly after 10 a.m.
The first finisher was Bill Slater, who arrived at the hot springs at 12:03 p.m.
Kristenn Magnusson was the first female rider to finish, at 12:17.
“It was super fast,” Slater said. “The trail was super hard. It was like riding a road race, just about.”
Slater said he and three others rode together for most of the way before the final sprint. Jonah Clark was the runaway leader, but skirted around the finish line to continue racing.
The event was open to anyone with a fat bike – also known as a snow bike.
