Cookies give Special Olympics Yukon another reason to smile

The latest Tim Hortons smile cookie campaign profited Special Olympics Yukon once again this year.

The sport organization, which helps youth and adults with intellectual disabilities become involved with and empowered by sport is the receiving charity for the sixth-straight year.

The smile cookie campaign generated $6,963 this year, with 100 per cent of the profits from sales going to SOY. Over the past six years, the smile cookie campaign has raised more than $37,000 in Whitehorse.

This year the smile cookies were decorated by Mallory Pigage, Alanna Dene, Tijana McCarthy, Chris Lee and Albert Bill, all Special Olympics athletes.

There are more than 90 Special Olympics athletes training and competing in the Yukon.
