Builders, Warriors battle to 2-2 hockey draw

The NGC Builders and KDFN-New Age Warriors earned a hardfought 2-2 tie in Rec A hockey action last night.

The NGC Builders and KDFN-New Age Warriors earned a hardfought 2-2 tie in Rec A hockey action last night.

Phil Mullin and Durand Cornett tallied for the Builders, with James Maltby adding two assists.

Shawn Kolak and Ian Kuster responded for the Warriors at Takhini Arena.

Sunday’s A league games saw Air North-KK Truck Rentals beat up on SLFS-Murphy Built 11-2 at the Canada Games Centre.

Evan Campbell scored four goals and added three assists, Adam Henderson netted a hat trick and two assists, while Robbie Stuckey added a pair of goals and four assists to lead the charge.

Phil Harry also scored a pair and had three assists, while Drew O’Connor and Tim McLelland had three and two assists, respectively.

Shawn Whellan and Steve Israel responded for SLFS.

Other action Sunday saw the Gold Pan Avalanche skate to a 2-2 tie with the Firth Rangers.

Mike Arnold had both Gold Pan goals while Clint Teichroeb and Ed Long responded for Firth.

In oldtimer hockey action Sunday, EDI trounced the Firth Rangers 9-5 thanks to a hat trick by Pat Tobler.

Mark Pike added two goals in the win, with Phil Roszell, Ed van Randen, Phil Borgel and Chuck Tobin adding singles.

Blayne Monahan was in on each of the Rangers goals with two goals and three assists, while Jason Cunning added a hat trick.

In other action, Medicine Chest beat Yukon Inn 6-4 with Peter Johnston scoring a hat trick for Medicine Chest. Alfred Feldman, Jeff O’Farrel and Wade Hanna added singles, while Greg Charlie (3) and Mike Muller netted for Yukon Inn.
