A man broke into a downtown business overnight Tuesday-Wednesday and stole $7,500 worth of goods, including power tools and work clothing.

An employee at the business, located in the 4200 block at Fourth and Second avenues, arrived at about 7:35 a.m. Wednesday to find the store had been broken into.

Drill/driver kits, impact driver kits, a reciprocating saw, an impact wrench, and a large volume of heavy-duty work clothing, including Duck work pants, thermal hooded sweat shirts, quilt-lined overalls and Duck BIB overalls, were stolen.

RCMP investigators and the Forensic Identification Unit attended the scene to process and collect evidence.

Police have released four photos of the sole male suspect, taken from the store’s security camera.

“We’re sending that out in hopes that someone might know him or recognize who this person is,” Const. Dean Hoogland said this morning.

He said the business does not want to be identified publicly.

He also said police are not releasing information about how the suspect entered and exited the store.

The break and enter occurred, Hoogland said, sometime between when the business closed Tuesday and when it opened Wednesday morning.

The investigation is continuing.

Anyone with information about the theft is asked to contact the police at 667-5551.

If you fiddle with the brightness and contrast (in any photo editing program), you see that he's wearing a cloak and appears to have his face whitened.
