Whitehorse RCMP have released images of two suspects in Wednesday morning’s robbery of a downtown gas station.

On Thursday, police announced they had arrested one of the three men suspected to be responsible for robbing the Fourth Avenue Petro-Canada outlet.

Timothy McKay, 18, stands accused of being one of the three people who, armed with bats, entered the gas station at around 3 a.m. Wednesday and stole cash, cigarettes and other items.

The RCMP have released video stills taken from a surveillance camera inside the station. These show the two suspects still at large.

Anyone with information is asked to call the police at 667-5555.

@ Josey; We have to find these two individuals so they can be offered counseling and possibly further education as well, also we need to get their explanation for why society has failed them and forced them take the actions they did.
Only then may we all offer our heartfelt apologies and possible monetary compensation to these two for how we have collectively let them down!
I hope everyone gets the sarcasm intended here but the sad fact is that what I've just mentioned isn't to farfetched in todays upside down world.

And, as usual the RCMP are asking for the publics help. Can I ask the police to do my job for me? The police are well paid for what they do, to say different is to lie. Pay them by the cracked case, and see how that goes.

Why even bother searching for these lowlifes?
When one factors in P.E.T.'s young offender act, section 718 and subsection (e) of said CCC clause, Gladue and yes of course the very, very trendy and in fashion...Not Criminally Responsible.
That my friend is a huge demographic in our composted community that the law....CLEARLY does not apply.
Since it resembles the UN here now, absolutely by design, perhaps our local thugs and apprentice thugs should use a nikab.
Then by default in these over the top PC Crusader times, nobody will bother you, nobody will even try to look for you...how could they?
Wonder how long till that is up here, that tactic?

The Star must have been offended when I sent in my little harmless joke "Yeah, I recognize them". So much for freedom of expression. Whitehorse needs a more balanced newspaper.

Yet another downtown robbery.
The local police don't seem to have a presence after 6 PM.
Maybe it's time for the merchants to get together and hire a few
security types to do after hours patrols for them.

Armed and masked.. doesn't matter..someone will know who they guys are..

I'd say, for armed robbery in the Yukon.. these guys are going to get at least 2 weeks.

This individual was also identified as one of the two 'chip thieves' from the gas station on Hamilton Drive. Escalating crimes? What's next if he gets a slap on the wrist?
