Numerous minor changes to the zoning bylaw were made last Monday night when city council approved the final two readings of the amendments.

Among the changes are clarifying definitions, job titles being changed to reflect department name changes; and clarifying parking requirements; clarifying lot sizes for housing zones.

Also involved are moving kennels from a secondary use to conditional use in agricultural zones; clarifying rules for day homes in multiple residential zones; and others.

As it was described in an earlier report to council, the housekeeping items were brought forward “to clarify and otherwise implement minor changes. Most of these changes have arisen from day-to-day use of the bylaw.”

No submissions came forward to council during a public hearing held in late March on the matter.

Council was unanimous in its decision last Monday, with Coun. Rob Fendrick attending the session by conference call.
