Several police cruisers, an ambulance and the fire department were on the scene of a two-vehicle accident Sunday morning on the Alaska Highway in the Marsh Lake area.

The collision sent a 68-year-old Alaska man to Whitehorse General Hospital with a head injury.

Hospital spokeswoman Val Pike said the man was released today, after a laceration on his head was sutured up.

At about 11:10 a.m. on Sunday, Whitehorse RCMP received a report of an accident two kilometres south of Grayling Road.

A black Chevrolet Camaro had collided with a white Chevrolet pickup truck, Const. Dean Hoogland said this morning.

The back end of the pickup was smashed, and the Camaro sat in the ditch off the highway, its airbag deployed.

The three passengers in the pickup, a 17-year-old girl, 39-year-old woman and 49-year-old man, were treated at the scene by paramedics.

The driver of the Camaro was trapped in his vehicle and freed by the fire department. He was then taken to hospital.

Hoogland said RCMP are still investigating the collision.
